What is this? This is plasma (the straw coloured part of the blood) after we have completed the centrifuge cycle on blood when we prepare it for PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment.

PRP

Plasma for Vampire Facial

I think we all remember the pictures of Kim Kardashian smeared in blood after her ‘Vampire Facial’.  Actually, that really isn’t how you should look after this fabulous, restorative treatment. I suspect the red blood was from being microneedled a little too deep or perhaps the therapist hit a blood vessell if injecting but it has certainly caused some confusion around PRP’s and microneedling in general. Here I will explain the reality of this wonderful treatment that we all perfom here at DPC Clinic.

PRP injections are used to aid healing in injuries and to help reduce hair loss for male and female pattern baldness but they are also used in facial aesthetics and we call those your Vampire Facial 🧛‍♀️
Here at DPC we are all trained in phlebotomy and for this treatment, we take a very small amount of blood which is quick and painless. We spin it to extract the Plasma which is the liquid portion of whole blood. It is composed largely of water and proteins, it provides a medium for red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets to circulate through the body. Platelets, also called thrombocytes, are blood cells that cause blood clots and other necessary growth healing functions.

Platelet activation plays a key role in the body’s natural healing process and we harness this to rejuvenate your skin, promote healing when we perform microneedling and we can also inject the plasma into key sites around your face where you may want extra focus such as lower face or under eyes.
This was one from one of my clients vampire facials, beautiful 🤩
These facial are particularly effective as part of a course of treatments and I’ve been loving the them either side of my Profhilo injections.  PRP is also fantastic as a stand alone treatment for an instant skin boost.
We have Vampire facials on for £150 instead of £250 in April & May and Skin Club have the option to swap one of their microneedling treatments for this fabulous facial 💜
