LED Light Therapy
LED Light Therapy uses colour wavelengths of visible light which have specific skin benefits. It is a heat-free treatment that does not contain harmful UV wavelengths and therefore cannot damage your skin tissue. It uses four sources of light therapy; red, blue, green and yellow. The skin uses the light as a source of energy to help repair and rejuvenate damaged cells, or, if treating acne, kill bacteria.
Exposure to the light can increase serotonin levels which in turn helps to relive stress, tension and headaches, helps with sleep and calms anxiety. Any feeling of ‘heat’ is most often due to the stimulation of blood circulation.
The power levels used for LED light therapy are not as strong as those used in IPL and Laser treatments. This means that LED light therapy is suitable for all skin types. However, darker skins may require longer exposure time to have the same level of effectiveness.
After just one treatment skin is hydrated, rejuvenated and radiant. Any redness and irritation will be calmed.

LED Light Therapy FAQ
Q. Will light therapy hurt?
A. Light therapy not only doesn’t hurt, it is known to considerably increase your general mood, it is a lovely treatment.
Q. How does the treatment work?
A. It is a non-invasive facial treatment that uses narrow band, non-thermal LED light energy to trigger your body’s natural cell processes to accelerate rejuvenation and repair of the skin. It’s recommended for skin rejuvenation, sun damage, acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, sensitive and inflammatory conditions, wound healing and scarring as well as anyone looking to restore skin’s radiance..
Q. Will it burn my skin?
A. Absolutely not. There is no risk of burning and this is not UV. This light is completely safe.
Q. Is it safe?
A. Yes, it is completely safe and is appropriate for all skin types.
Q. Do you need regular treatments?
A. Like with all skin treatment, maintenance is always best to be taken monthly to maintain your results.
Q. Will my skin be noticeably different?
A. You should certainly look fresher, brighter, improved as the cells rejuvenated with the light with day 2/3 looking truly glowing. However, for longer term results it depends on which treatment you’re having. For example, blue light destroys the P acne bacteria in your skin, so we would expect the skin to look calm and the more treatments the better the results. Same for hyper-pigmentation, that would take longer to achieve longer term results.
Q. How long will the results last?
A. Okay. Again, all treatments need to be ongoing, so we would recommend monthly treatments.
